Body-Solid
has the best selection of Home Gyms in the
industry. The following will help you choose
the right model for your fitness objectives.
1. Selectorized
Home Gyms - Most
Home Gyms can clearly be identified as "Weight
Stack Selectorized " Home Gyms or "Plate Loaded
Free Weight " Home Gyms. Weight stack systems
always incorporate a weight stack where as
the user can adjust the weight for each exercise
by moving a selector pin from one position
to another. Selectorized Home Gyms generally
are more expensive than Free Weight Home Gyms
and cost more to ship but Weight Stack Systems
are more convenient as one does not
have to handle free weight plates.
a). Standard Models -
These are common for most manufacturers in
that the machine controls the movement during
exercise.

b). Biangular Technology -
This is an exclusive feature found on a select
number of Body Solid Gyms. The advanced technology
allows the user to experience movement similar
to free weights as they control more of the
motion as compared to conventional standard
models, while still benefiting from the safety
offered from machines.

c). Institutional Quality -
These Home Gyms are built with the highest
quality materials available and are well suited
for most commercial applications.

2. Free
Weight Home Gyms -
Plate loaded systems require the user to manually
load free weights onto the Home Gym to control
the amount of weight for each exercise. Plate
loaded systems generally are less expensive
and cost less to ship but weight stack systems
are more convenient as one does not have to
handle the plates.
a). Half and Full Rack Systems -
These Home Gyms are built around a half or
full cage rack or power rack. They usually
include more options and attachments than
selectorized weight stack models and sometimes
offer an optional selectorized weight stack
for the lat attachment. These gyms always
require an additional purchase of a weight
bar and weight plates as they are not included
with the Home Gym purchase.

b). Smith Machine Systems -
These Home Gyms are built around a smith machine.
They usually include more options and attachments
than selectorized weight stack models and
sometimes offer an optional selectorized weight
stack for the lat attachment. These gyms always
require an additional purchase of weight plates
as they are not included with the Home Gym
purchase. The Smith machine always includes
a bar as standard equipment.

c).
Single-Station Systems -
These Home Gyms are similar to a selectorized
system except you must load your own plates.
They usually are very basic in that there
are not many optional attachments. These gyms
always require an additional purchase of weight
plates as they are not included with the Home
Gym purchase. No weight bar is needed for
these gyms.
